17 Million Women get the Right to Vote

The humorous story of how one farm woman in the back woods of Tennessee gave 17 million women the right to vote. Young Harry Burn was left to break the deadlock. Much to the disgust of his colleagues in the Tennessee Senate, he obeyed a note from his mother, Phoebe Burn, and cast the pivotal vote for women.
Jessie arranged a celebration at the Poli Theatre in D.C. the following day. It was a jubilant time and yet there was a sad note as well. Jessie went to Mrs. Catt and suggested that she invite Alice Paul to share the podium at the celebration. Too much had divided the two women and Mrs. Catt sadly declined.
